Sun, Surf and Jeeps: Jeep Beach 2014

The 11th anniversary of the largest Jeep exclusive event in the Southeast USA, Jeep Beach, officially begins today, April 23 at Daytona Beach.

The host, Mid-Florida Jeep club, is anticipating thousands of attendees over the course of the five-day event, all there to soak in the sun, show off their rigs and have a blast. Jeepers and observers will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of leading industry vendors, be a part of the excitement at the Dayton Speedway and ride in or sit back and enjoy the Jeep parade.

“Jeep Beach is an opportunity to hang out with thousands of like-minded Jeepers from all over the country in a fun-filled environment,” says Poison Spyder’s Social Media Manager Kha Ly.

Jeep Beach is fun for any family, not only Jeep enthusiasts. While many vendors and sponsors are suppliers of Jeep parts and accessories, there will also be plenty of great food, family-friendly entertainment and, most importantly, wonderful people. Proceeds from the event are donated to various charities, namely The Blue Ribbon Coalition and the Volusia/Flagler Boys and Girls Club.

Unofficially, the event kicked off Tuesday, April 22 with a Mid-Florida Jeep Club dine out at Hooters, an event which brought in over 100 Jeeps last year. The official kick-off event on Wednesday will feature live music and the Dealer’s Choice Award at a cruise-in-concert hosted by Daytona Dodge. Registered participants can also enjoy the Jeep Beach scavenger hunt – a great way to celebrate with the kiddos!

Jeep owners will be sure not to miss the Jeep Beach Mixer and silent auction on Thursday, with mingling opportunities with some of the biggest and best vendors in the Jeep Off-Road industry. Friday will be participants’ first chance to hit the Speedway and Saturday will be the peak of Jeep Beach as Jeepers and observers alike head to the track for the obstacle course.

Saturday’s festivities will include the much-anticipated Jeep obstacle course challenges as well as the Show-n-Shine vendor fair, children’s activities and raffle drawings. The event will wrap up on Sunday with the Beach Parade, a 5-mile long parade of Jeep enthusiasts and their beloved rides across the sands of Daytona Beach.

Last year, Jeep Beach’s various events featured thousands of Jeeps, with 1,827 participating in the Saturday obstacle course alone. Thanks to sponsors like 4 Wheel Drive Hardware and Smittybilt, as well as everyone who comes to enjoy Jeep Beach, Mid-Florida Jeep Club was able to contribute over $85,000 dollars to charity in 2013.

Jeep Beach will wrap up with the bittersweet hugs of departing friends at a pool party and lunch held at The Shore Spa and Resort. “If I had just one word to describe Jeep Beach it would have to be the word, ‘Friends’. Jeep Beach is unlike any other Jeep Event in the country, and one of my favorites, just for the fact that I have made so many good friends there,” says Ly. Not to worry, though, they will be sure to see each other again at Jeep Beach 2015!
